Corners on Bindings

I have looked at the tutorials on the mitered corners on binding and I follow the directions. However, when I turn them out, the are all bunched up. What do I need to do differently

are you leaving the 1/4 inch when you come to the end before you turn?

It is really important to do as DebraK stated. Here is a really good short video that will help. When I was learning how to do them, I watched a bazillion videos about it before I was able to do it really well.

You should also trim the inside of the corner to help the binding fold over.

I found this one on youtube to be the easiest to follow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INh6sVKJRrA
I've watched it a few times and had no problem turning my binding corners. As a matter of fact, they come out nearly perfect if you do it this way. Also, I was told by a master quilter that if you press the binding away from the quilt body (after it is sewn on by machine) it will be easier to turn to the other side to hand sew. Tried it this time on my DD's quilt and it's effortless to turn it over! Just passing it on, hope this helps.:)
