for those wondering how the cotton crops are doing this year, you can read all about it here!
http://www.cotton.org/news/enewstuesday.cfm looks like Australia is leading in production this year. But I found it interesting that China is trying to cultivate a market control strategy! Really??? |

If you buy any kind of cotton fabric, in any form, you're almost certainly buying Chinese-made products.
China now does a vast majority of the cotton weaving in the world, and in fact controls the world supply of woven cotton (greige goods). What they're trying to do with this move is to maintain higher prices by buying up cotton production in China and holding it in reserve so that independent traders can't compete with the government. This will allow them to release goods at a rate that guarantees them high prices. |
Wish they would bring back the textile mills to the U.S.with all the jobs and lovely fabric they used to make.
