I started having some trouble with the last 2 quilts I did on the frame (Next Generation) so I took my machine (Pfaff Grand Quilter 1200). The machine works great off the frame what I found was the tracks on the platform have sections that are cracked and wheels on the upper platform have some uneven wear. I called the shop where I purchased it from and they are going to check into the cost of replacement part. I 've only have this 7 months or so and maybe done 13 or so lap size quilts should I have this kind of wear?

The picture is kinda blurry there are cracks on each side but not in the same areas on side is in front and other towards the back

I hope you have a good outcome, I would think they shouldn't wear out that fast.

That seems excessive for 7 months! I have the same frame and the same machine. I bought it 3 years used and just replaced my tracks. I called the Grace company and instead of ordering new ones, they suggested I cut the short ones down since I did not plan to use them. Otherwise I could have ordered them, don't recall the cost, but it was too much. Good Luck with the LQS.

When I called Grace they suggested that I clean the wheels and track often, but some wear and tear was normal.

I meant the replacement was NOT too much...sorry for the typo. :)

What is the warranty on the frame? I don't own one so have no idea, but would hope it would be at least a year. If so, they should repair/replace it themselves.

My frame dosen't have a warranty since I bought it used. I was starting to wonder if I had the machine placed on the platform wrong, the last quilt I did was a total nightmare

That seems like excessive wear to me and it happened in such a short time with not many quilts finished. It's a very poor advertisement for this frame and I'm sure if they don't do something for you that there would be many potential buyers on this board who wouldn't even consider this frame after your experience with it. I hope they send you new parts free of charge very soon.

I don't have this frame, but I do clean my tracks at least once a day when I am quilting on it.

I noticed I will get a lot of lint and stray thread in the wheeels too.

Seems excessive to me but you DO have to maintain them. Cleaning them, getting the lint and threads off. Use alcohol on a lint free cloth. Also.....If your machine jerks and goes off track for any reason (mine did that), then it will cause gouges. Last time I looked at my local dealer, it would have cost around $3.00 for a strip --- I think....I know i was shocked how cheap they were! (probably the cheapest part of the whole set-up!!!!)
