I did it in reverse, made a quilt top (except I serged my seams and also reinforced with seam tape as I went) and used it for a cloth shower curtain with a separate liner. I couldn't find what I liked in the stores, it came out great and I'm still using it gosh, 7 or 8 yrs later! I was online looking for a new shower curtain for the kids bathroom and saw this and just fell in love with the pattern and colors...I think I'm going to buy it - if it doesn't work - Material isn't right or something I can always hang it in the kids bath! |
Target has some cool cloth ones along this "mod" line.

Not crazy at all!! I know I look at the clearance sheets alot for the backing for quilts. I purchased some solid kingsize sheets for 3.24 each!! I also purchased the pillow cases - not as great a deal yardage wise but they were .75 for two!! I am in the process of making fishing pillow cases for my great postal guys and will use one for the backing for them!! I have also used the childrens curtain panels for backing or even squares for a quilt - You can find the Barbie, Cars etc patterns easily and cheaper than the fabric this way!! Just have to watch fabric content.
Wow!! I love to shop clearance isles and you have given me more reasons to look!! Thanks cheryl  |
nope, haven't lost your mind. You have just entered the wonderful world of Quiltdom! :) We see quilts in everything!
