Let's put our collective knowledge to good use: and share what we have done with those bits of batting, great and small. I've recently had the "Eureka" experience, when I grabbed some batting fragments to wrap my delicate Christmas decorations before putting them in their box. How about you? What do you do to repurpose, reuse, and recycle batting?

Stuffing for pincushions, pillows, small stuffed animals. I've also zigzagged the larger pieces together and made larger battings for quilts. But, yes, my Nativity is wrapped in batting. I also use a large piece of it under my Christmas Village and the village is wrapped in it too. Potholders and Fun & Done projects are on my list of uses also.

stuffing for doggy beds that I donate to the local shelters.

I use them for stuffing quite frequently. I have put them in stuffed animals, pin cushions, and homemade nursing pillows. I also use the larger scraps as soaker pads in homemade diapers.
|
Small pieces I use as thread catchers and to clean my machines. Larger peices I use as quilt as you go projects or I sew them together to make larger battings.

Join with zig zag and use for quilt as you go squares.

I used some to put in packages being mailed and in some right here to prevent breakage. Works great!!!!

They are great for making snowpeople or snowpeople faces

I don't have enough scraps to do anything with, but thanks for the ideas! I won't have a problem when I do have enough!
|
I throw my small pieces into a box and when I am doing nothing I just snip them into bits and put into zip loc bags. I then use them for stuffing.
