I heard some quilters talking about getting thimbles made specifically for their fingers from a vendor at a quilt show.
Has anyone ever had one of these made?

I love the Clover leather one. I get the small. It is the best thimble I've ever had.

I use leather one too. Only one I found I can actually use.

I bought one at a quilt show three years ago and couldn't be without it. It wasn't a Roxanne's; it was handcrafted and kinda pricy but worth every cent.

I have diabetic neuropothy and my doctor has required me to learn to use a thimble. The only custom made one's I can find are $50.00 each and I need 2. Does anyone have any suggestions? I can't use the leather because she is afraid I will get a needle in my finger through it. Help...

I have bought three custom silver thimbles and love each one. Each one was bought at the Road to CA quilt show in Ontario CA. They were no there this year.

Gwyn what 2 fingers do you use your thimbles on? Maybe you could make your own by using a finger splint available at most any pharmacy section. Then just wrap it with some tape. Then next time you need to use it just apply it with new tape? If you want me to look for one for you just let me know. I will be glad to do that and mail it to you. crafty_linda_b

I must have half a dozen thimbles but so far my favorite one is the Clover
silicone with metal tip. It sticks to my finger and I don't have to keep
chasing it.
