My unmarried sister decided she would make quilts for grand nieces that visited regular (my MOM) lives w/her. The first 2 went fine. They picked colors, and said things like, "I like butterflies" When she got to the ALMOST 8yr old--things took a turn! ALEXIS presented her a "drawing " of all the things she wanted in her quilt. Gave her a list of colors. My sister was so impressed, that this little girl had thought & put so much effort into her plan! She ASKED (always a mistake) is there anything else?To which, ALEXIS replied, "yes, please make it KING-SIZE, 'cause I know this is only happening ONCE!"We do have a VERY lg family! Why settle for a throw or twinsize, when someone's giving you a choice! LOL!!!

That is a very cute story. Yes sometimes you can ask too many questions.

OMG, too cute. smart girl! (the kid not the sister) LOL

She deserves to have it king size, but I suppose it wouldn't be fair to the other kids. Cute story.

That will teach her for asking! Now she has her work cut out for her.

Comment that Alexis is destined to be a CEO seems prophetic. She is a "smart" girl. Reminded me of my oldest niece. When she was about 6, when I was visiting I gave her and her sister, one year younger, each a candy bar as a little treat. Older one, starting to open and eat hers, turned to her younger sister and said, "Susie you know mom says you should share." Susie being the younger, with the giving, wanting-to-please personality of a middle child, promptly divided her yet uneaten candy bar and gave Donna, older niece, half. Donna promptly ate all of hers. Susie, realizing, I guess, that this wasn't quite fair, protested gently repeating comment about sharing. To which Donna said, "Well, I didn't say I was going to share with you."

Kids are smart. My 3 year old has 1 quilt but he already has plans for what he wants in a new quilt. That was a cute story.

That is funny! Sometimes it is so surprising what comes out of those little ones mouth!!! Love it!
P.S. Is she going to get king size? LOL!

Perhaps she should teach Alexis to quilt!
