Does it matter if you cut the bias binding
WOF...width of fabric
or
LOF...length of fabric

Bias is cut on the bias. 45 degree angle.

Yep-it's not bias if it's cut WOF or LOF.

My binding is cut WOF. Been doing it that way for years. Your other thread has good ideas on Bias or not. I read it this morning.

LOL, bias is cut on a 45 degree angle!

HOWEVER-------I cut on the grain binding across the width generally, then sew together with a bias seam.

This is basically how I make bias binding, but I'm usually using a couple of yards at a time, or near a yard of 108" wide, so that I get more than one binding out of it. It's not much more difficult to make two or three quilts' worth of binding than it is to make one. :)

One thing I will say is that she is having to scissor-cut her tube from the right end of the tube - and she's right handed, so that's not very natural.

If she had made the first diagonal cut across the FQ in the opposite direction, she would then be cutting the tube from the left end - for a right-hander, this is a much easier way to cut - you can hold the edge of the tube with your left hand and cut with your right. :)

If you're a right hander, it's probably not as natural or comfortable to hold the tube with your right hand and cut with your left.
