OOps! I did it! Cutting a thread and made a tiny slit into the material. Suggestions on how to make my hole "disappear"?

Fray check, then use matching thread, use teeny stitches, and satin stitch across (while Fray check is still wet!) allow to dry and press. Fray check again.
This will only work on things that aren't going to be "loved to death", and I wouldn't do it on red fabric. Otherwise it has worked for me on both quilt blocks and garments. |
I need to remenber this. Thanks for sharing.

If still in the piecing stage, I just iron a small piece of fusible interfacing to the wrong side. Just did this a few days ago! Why would you satin stitch on wet fray check area? Does that conceal stitches better?
|
If you try to satin stitch after the fray check is dry you end up pulling at the fabric and the tear looks worse than when you started. Stitching while it's wet lets the needle slide through more easily so it stays flatter...at least that has been my experience. ;-)

I've read where people have used BoNash successfully.I've never tried this but am planning to buy some at the Dallas Quilt Show to have on hand. Apparently its a powder that you sprinkle on and iron to "invisibly" fuse. Someone please correct me if this is wrong. One of those I think I have to have that things.

Applique a little lady bug or something on the spot. My daughter made a king sized Sun bonnet sue for a lady and somehow some black grease or something got on a little spot and she tried and tried to get that out and when she did it left a little area and so she appliqued a little bluebird on the area, and to make it look like it was supposed to be there, she appliqued several other blue birds randomly so it looked like they were supposed to be there.
