"If I stitch fast enough, does it count as an aerobic exercise?"

I asked my excerise instructor about this. She didn't answer, but did give me sewing to do.

Dont forget Eleanor Burns book,The Underground Railroad.

Also an interesting read is: Hidden In Plain View, this is not a pattern book just a reading book.

Check out Kansas Troubles, I love their fabrics and they do have stories that go with many of theirs I believe.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions!! I'm planning a special surprise Christmas box and your input is greatly appreciated.

Marcia, How've you been?? I heard of that book and while I've not seen it, the description sounded like something I'd really like, too. Who knows, maybe I'll get into CW repros after my obsession with 30s  like that will ever end!

Hi Heather--I am staying busy! The flu is really going around here, so I am trying to stay healthy while I take care of my sick daughter. Days and weeks just seem to fly by--never enough time for quilting.

Here is another great website for CW fabrics and patterns--

http://www.bonniebluequilts.com/

and don't forget about Judie Rothermel--she has gorgeous fabric and patterns and books too-

And if you shop around long enough for your friend, I am willing to bet you will eventually love the CW repros as much as you love the 30s!!

Like I said, these are similar to the Dear Jane blocks, and are really beautiful. I'm dying to start one in honor of my 3rd gr-grandpa who was at Appamattox.

I'm working on quilts from both these books have also done the Undergroung Railroad, it's stunning.
