Has anyone made a D9P using just 2 directional fabrics?

Try a sample block and see what you think. Be sure to show us as you decide:)

Directional fabrics are difficult in a D9P because many of the possible layouts for this block involve the blocks being cut and turned. The only place that I have been able to use directional fabric is in the outer squares (the ones that don't get cut) and even that is not always satisfactory. In my mind doing what you suggest would be difficult if you want to maintain the orientation of the fabric direction.

I agree with Shelbie. Sounds like a hair-pulling experience to me!! :)

It can be done. When you cut your block apart, you just move top right to bottom left and the bottom left to the top right. You don't actually have to rotate them this way.

I don't know about that never having made one, but I was wondering if it would work using scraps or does it have to be somewhat coordinated?

Thank you. I've been cutting scraps to make one, but then had second thoughts about how it would look. You've given me the green light! Now all I need is some time. Got any of that hanging around that you can spare?
