Hello!
I have a question about the D9P? What size do you make the blocks? 5, 6 inch or any size you want them. New to quilting and don't have a clue, but want to learn!!!
Thank you!

I would think anything over 3" would be fine. For me 5" would let you see the design well and yet pieces not be too small to appreciate the colors. Ruth

I like to use 5.5" squares for the 9-patch (5" finished).

I would think the size would be up to you. Just don't go to small or you will lose the design.

5-inch charm squares worked well for me.

I think it's up to the quilter. I've made one using 3.5" and loved it, quilted in the ditch. Made one from country theme fabric using 8.5" blocks, quilted on the diagonal and am really crazy about it. AND have a couple I'm working on in 4.5" blockS. I've just recently found the D9P block pattern and the D4P block pattern and am having fun with both, with the 9 patch my favorite.

A charm pack dictated my size - 5 inches. I have a Disappearing 16 Patch in the works now.

Thank you all for the replies, I think I will go with a 6 inch!
