Just got this in the mail today. Thanks Barb!
Says it was received this way at Hagatna Post Office.
Think maybe the Taotaomona Got it? lol

Barb...does your quilt shop have any more of this fabric? It's BEAUTIFUL!!
I can send you a check, along to include the money for shipping. Let me know.

Celeste 03-09-2009 08:58 PM

So it arrived unharmed, despite the tears?

MissTreated 03-09-2009 09:14 PM

Ouch! Please tell us the fabric made it without any scars!

The fabric was just a scrap piece that Barb sent. It's being added to the stash of my blue and yellows for the quilt I am making. She showed the fabric on one of the threads. Can't find it right now, but it's perfect for what I want to do.

littlehud 03-10-2009 07:52 AM

Teri, watch out. Now it is after your fabric. By the way the little peek we can see is beautiful. Have fun with it. And Teri, stay safe.

camillacamilla 03-10-2009 07:23 PM

You might want to edit that picture to take out the addresses. You never know what kind of person may be reading this board. Your address doesn't need to be online. I am not trying to butt in where I don't belong...just want you to be safe.

I'm not too worried about someone coming to get me. I'll just tell Taotaomona to get them!
Plus, the person would have to pay alot of money to fly here. Not an easy trip!!

Here's a pic of the fabric. Isn't it awesome?!?!?!
The brown is my loveseat.

gcathie 03-10-2009 11:00 PM

Oh you girls sure know how to make someone smile!!.....:-).......Thank you!!!!!

Izy 03-10-2009 11:48 PM

Wow Terri, that is beautiful fabric!! It does look like it's been gnawed on though.....   Anymore sitings in the last couple of days??

quilter1962 03-10-2009 11:59 PM

Terri

That fabric is so beautiful, lucky it wasn't damaged. What pattern have you got in mind for your blue & yellow quilt?

Tisha

Quilt4u 03-11-2009 01:19 AM

Beautiful. But you got to watch out for those critters. They can be a pest at times.

k3n 03-11-2009 02:07 AM

Lovely fabric! Really unusual. that package does look a little chewed though.....!

tlrnhi 03-11-2009 03:23 AM

I just love that fabric! Hopefully Barb can find me some. I've looked on a couple sites for it, but cannot find it. :(
Thank God the fabric wasn't cut/torn. Just the spots where Barb took what she needed.
What I'm wanting to make is a Pineapple Quilt. The colors are the blue/yellow/white...cobalt blues. Love that color. The pattern calls for 52 fat quarters. I'm about 1/2 way there. This fabric would be awesome for a border!

sandpat 03-11-2009 03:47 AM

Really pretty fabric! I'm anxious now to see this going into your quilt..

Patti, I'm still short some fat quarters. I'm thinking I'm going to have to double up on some of the fabric. :(

Bevanger 03-11-2009 06:00 AM

Thanks for the giggles. You gals sure set off my mornings.

littlehud 03-11-2009 06:52 AM

That is beautiful fabric. Just got a peek earlier, but its as nice as I thought it was. Thanks for sharing.

k3n 03-11-2009 08:17 AM

Terri, what sort of FQs are you after?

K x

Tink's Mom 03-11-2009 02:01 PM

Terri, You better lock up your fabric...your little???friend is now eating your mail. If you can't find a safe place, you can send some of it here....

I'll look for some blue/white/yellow scraps for you!!!

sharon b 03-11-2009 02:08 PM

See Terri I told you , your visitors want the fabric :-o Quick send it to me for safe keeping  I promise to take good care of it for you  Glad the fabric was ok after all the damage..
Sharon

tlrnhi 03-11-2009 05:52 PM

All you ladies are wonderful for offering to keep my fabric safe. It's ok. Kit aka Big Boy guards my room for me, so nothing can steal my fabric. He's great at doing that!

K..See the darker blue in the fabric? The Cobalt Blue? That's the blues I'm going for. It can be with yellow or white, but no other color. I just love Cobalt Blue and thought it would be pretty.

If you go here http://www.quiltingboard.com/posts/list/16987.page
Scroll down you will see the 2d quilt (that's mine made by Machel :) )
See the blue on the border? That's the color blue. (maybe just a shade darker since pictures don't always show true colors on the site)

The scrap that Barb sent will be incorporated into the quilt, but I think using that as a border would be AWESOME, don't you agree?
Now, I'm scouring fabric sites to find it .... that is, WHEN I have time. :)

Gorgeous fabric. I think you should cut a piece of the fabric on your loveseat to use with it. It's a perfect match! I know, it's probably too heavy, but who would miss the hole you cut out of the back of the couch?

tlrnhi 03-13-2009 05:21 AM

LOL Gail!

PrettyKitty 03-13-2009 03:05 PM

Hmmm, Terri, it does look like the Tomato( :D ) nibbled on your package. But I guess he will protect you from anyone coming to get you! I hope the Tomato ( :D ) doesn't like chocolate, maybe the Easter Bunny will have to wrap any gifts up in chainmail!

This made me laugh
Last night, not getting much time with d#2, I took her out to eat w/ grandbaby. We were reminiscing about family stuff. We were talking about one of my nieces, her cousin, how she liked to scare her younger sister...5 years age difference.
When Kathy was three, Kim came running into my house, (she couldn't say tornado), so she yelled,
"Kathy, there's tomatoes in the bushes, there's tomatoes in the bushes!"
Kiiiiimmm, are you scaring your sister again????

Mousie 03-13-2009 05:34 PM

keep the envelope Terri, for dna evidence.
Did you notice the teeth marks on it?
oh them buggers,
guess somebody was having a good day, (whistling scared them off, before they made off with that luscious fabric.)
whew, that was a close one, no telling what they were gonna substitute with...maybe a psychedelic geometric or something...

mountain-moma 03-13-2009 05:46 PM

I just love, love that fabric sure hope you can find more

mimisharon 03-13-2009 07:02 PM

I'll check my lqs for you Terri. Cobalt blue, I can remember that until Monday, maybe.

tlrnhi 03-14-2009 04:41 AM

Thanks all for looking for me.
I'm willing to pay you back for them.

But, I'd LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to have yardage of what Barb sent.
She says she's going to see if she can ask the lady she got it from. I'm just in love with that.......Oh, how I wish I were back in the states!!
Maybe I'll need to get a "bug up my butt" and tell hubby I'm going to visit the inlaws....he might have a heart attack from me saying that. lol But, there are weekly flights from here to McConnell in KS.
Hmm...there's an idea! I could fly in there, visit with the inlaws for a bit, rent a car and drive to CA, hop a flight out of CA back here! OH MY!! Thinking, thinking, thinking!! lol

Please excuse me as I step upon my soap box for a minute. I know the postal workers are very busy (but not as busy as they once were before the internet, huh). It seems that when a package is damaged as yours was, that they would have figured out a way to repackage -- even slip it into a clear plastic envelope or something) so that the package reaches it's destination "safely." Goodness knows, we pay enough postage.

What probably happened is that they ran it through a piece of machinery that they shouldn't have instead of handling it manually.

The valentine package that I sent returned to me in terrible condition. I had to re-package it before sending it back.

OK, I'm done. I love your fabric. Thanks for listening. G

oh, but Gail you are so right. I get some of my meds by mail, and one time I got my package inside another 'bag', and all the pills were just loose in there with original torn up pkging. Now, all these years later, I would never have taken any of this medicine. I would talk to postmaster and called pharmacy etc. but live and learn. I just let it go at the time. It could have been handled better than this. That's why they are bonded and make big bucks. i know, Sil works for them. :D of course I'm not talking about the whole kit and caboodle, just whoever dropped, broke my bottle, and stuffed in a bag etc. :?

sandpat 03-14-2009 11:47 AM

Terri, I scoured my stash looking for your cobalt...I have 1 FQ that "maybe" would work but it also has a green leaf in it. I'll be going to LQS when I get the IRR centers in...I'll be happy to look there for you. I'll also keep my eyes open as I finish working on that shop hop...no I'm not done yet...

tlrnhi 03-14-2009 03:17 PM

GailG...I agree, it should have been put in another envelope by them. I have had damaged mail come thru before and was always in a clear envelope by the post office. This time, it wasn't. Had it been a HUGE piece of expensive fabric and the fabric damaged, you can bet I would have been down at the post office raising the roof!

Granny B 03-15-2009 04:05 PM

I agree with Camillacamilla. Not sure there's any place on this globe that doesn't have access to the Internet. They wouldn't necessarily have to fly a long time to get to you. Better safe than sorry with any address or real name.
