Just an FYI--Janome is just going to show their new machine the 7700, an upgrade to the 6500 and 6600. It has an 11" throat space and 5 lights, etc. They are supposed to be out in the US in May, I believe. I have seen the pictures and specs on the Yahoo Janome 6500/6600 group site. Looks very interesting. Judy

My singer has one, and it is great.

I have a Janome and use the 1/4" foot. I have to adjust the needle location. I LOVE it for keeping the fabric in line.

Does anyone know if the Brother foot will work on a Pfaff since they are both snap on types?

I have a Janome 6500P and use the 1/4" foot and don't have any problems with it. I also have the Janome 4800 (which was the machine model right before the 6500, so it has the same feet and decorative stitches) and use that one to take to sewing bee 'cause it's lighter to carry.
I don't have any problems sewing the same project on two diff. machines. I think you are trying to "push" the fabric too close to the foot edge....then it's not 1/4". Hey..I also figure it's my quilt...and as long as all my seam allowances are the same......it doesn't matter. It only matters if you are exchanging blocks with someone else. |
Yes, I saw the new Janome the other day, but since I only just got the 6600 I think it would be hard work persuading DH I need to upgrade this soon! LOL I'm thrilled with the 6600, the even more throat space would be nice I guess, but there'll always be bigger and better, I'll just enjoy what I've got - for now, anyway! LOL
