OK, I'm gearing up for another Bargello, still in the thinking stages though. I've only made the plain patterns - 17 fabric strips sewn into panels, cut panels into loops of varying widths, and sew together......
Have any of you designed your own exciting layouts or do you use patterns from books, etc? I love your beautiful posted pics and was wondering if any of you have a design that you'd like to share in a tute. I've tried to pick at the pictures to see how they put it together, but had no luck.
What can I do with my bargello panels besides sew them together up and down.
Geez!, its late and I'm rambling, hope this makes sense. Its past by bedtime.:>)

I've admired them also and tried to make a small sampler but it sure didn't have the appeal of those on this site. I'm going to watch this one also. Thanks for asking.

once you have your strips sewn together into tubes and cut into different widths a design wall really comes in handy
you hang the strips side by side on the design wall- then move them up and down- to create a pleasing arrangement.
or you can take pictures of the strips and sit at a table and play with them that way-moving them up and down into the design you like

I drew a pleasing (to me) curve and used that by placing the designated fabric to follow it.
