designs on I-5 wall near Takoma WA

I've been meaning to take a pix of the designs on the retaining walls for several years. Easter Sunday I had my camera and I got a few quick shots as we were driving by.
Whether they will ever be made into a quilt, I don't know. More likely they will join others in a file of patterns of tiles and carvings. I thought you might like to see them Mim |
Thanks for the pics. I believe Mesa or Phoenix had something like this also.

Wow, that is pretty and would make a fabulous quilt pattern. I say get the graphing paper out and go for it!

Those are really cool.

Almost looks like drunkard's paths blocks.

I like it, but I want to rearrange the tiles. Like one of those games I used to play as a kid.

I agree -- it's fun to re-arrange things. The interesting thing about these squares is that it is sort of a drunkards path but off center and the corners are "stripes" that are straight lines.

I wonder how much federal government pays people to do this when us quilters do this everyday free ....

The elevators on the cruise ship I was just on had beautiful tile floors. I took pictures of several of them so I could make quilt blocks some day. They were beautiful, but my kids said "what is that a picture of"? They thought I was a little crazy. If I ever figure out how to post pictures, with a little help from my children, I will post the pictures.

Where is Takoma? Or is it Tacoma? Saw some walls along those lines in the Greater Seattle area last year, your right it would make a great quilt.
