Hi-

If I wanted to use flannel as a backing for a quilt, can I use the kind that states "specifically not designed for apparel use?" I am confused..what type of flannel can I use?

Thanks!

That type just does not have flame retardent chemicals added. So yes, it will work in a quilt just fine :D:D:D

I think the not designed for apparel use is flamible (sp?)
Apparel flannel has been treated -- flame retardant. Just a guess.

Make sure you wash it first, flannel shrinks like crazy.

It will work just fine.

I use flannal alot. My oldest DD freezes all the time. She has requested that any quilt I make for her have a flannel backing.

Yes you can use it . they have to label that so you know it is not safe for use in clothes
