I just washed some flannel and some came out nicely and some just pill up! Both seemed very nice when I bought it! I am just not sure how big of fan I am of flannel. Whenever I finish a project with it, then I like it! What is your opinion please?

like most fabric, there are different qualities of flannel. the one that pilled probably has some polyester in it...or a lot of polyester. All cotton flannel is definitely the best for softness and durability. even with cotton, you can find some one-sided flannel...look for the two sided kind for the best (in my opinion). There is also a big difference in the weave between poor and good quality - you can see and feel the difference between the two...just keep looking.

Sometimes it will pill up more if you wash it with coarse fabrics, zippers, etc... :D:D:D

I buy nice flannel, not the cheaper stuff! I know people love the baby quilts when they receive them! They say they wash up nicely, so I am assuming the fussies quit coming after a few washings! I am making my daughter in law some baby receiving blankets for a new little due this month! She loves them!
