I sewed a top together and it went together very well. I used some spray startch while giving it a final press and got a little over zealous and now have a few blocks distorted. What can I do?

I have had this happen while FMQ and have been able to smooth out the bulges by blocking down on my carpet and kept spritzing it with water until it came back to shape. I had good success, but this time it is only the top so I fear if I sandwich it and quilt it, I may have puckers or whatever, I can't quite imagine yet. This is scaring me so I would appreciate any suggestions you might have.

Go ahead and spritz and let it dry before you move it. I saw someone do this and it worked wonders.

You can spritz it with water and pin it to shape on the carpet, then let it dry. In other words, you can "block" just the top. Once it dries in the correct shape, you can go ahead and make the sandwich and quilt it.

I recently blocked a whole quilt top on top of the mattress of my king sized bed. I used spray starch from a can. It worked beautifully. Sharon Schamber has a youtube of this process that is excellent for learning the technique. Best wishes!
