fabulous fabrics.
I'm not sure and I like them all but the red set made my eyes and brain hurt. Something about their pattern really does something to me. Does anyone else feel that?
They are all beautiful!!! The reds are so great!!!
All these fabric are so beautiful. I like the red, also like the green and brown.
i like all of them but the butterflies. i'd find some heart pattern to use the reds on... valentines day is coming. i'm thinking of churn dash for the others.
I had the same reaction to the red - it made me wince. I think its the one on the far right that sets me off it. Not sure why, other than the pattern is very busy & makes me uncomfortable -- maybe cut that one up into smaller pieces so its used more sparingly? The browns are too close together in color/all are busy patterns - need a little variety in color, texture, etc. Love the green & brown and the blues & blacks! I see a D9P or a churn dash for the green and brown, the black/blues I see in a simple 9 patch with alternating blocks in the floral print (its too large a print to cut up much or you'd lose the pattern). You have some lovely fabrics.

Look at the connecting threads most recent catalog for ideas for the reds! They have some great red quilts
I really like your fabric! In fact, I have a couple of them :) What about Robert Kaufman "Bundle of 10" ? I think they'd look great in some fashion of a more contemporary look. Fun!

I have no ideas for the fabrics, but where did you get the butterflies? I've looked all over to find it with no luck :(
I like all of the groupings and I think the reds will work fine, the first fabric will add a bit of movement
ok I saw pinwheels in the first one, rail fence in the second.. then lets see the browns need less white I think. the greens too.. melt together like a .. peppermint patty sorta way.. I like the red/whites a pinwheel set of fours needs a solid in there I think. lovely fabric is right. go to pinterest type in quilt type in girls or hearts or whatever words hit you and just scroll. it will come to you. red quilts something like that and tada there it is.. spring quilts.. bright quilts you get the idea. hundreds of drooling photos right there to peak at.

I would put a black with the reds but I don't know which pattern I would do
My first thought when I saw the reds was Valentines. Dont know about the butterfly combo but the green and brown sets I would go with one of the modern day patterns.
I love the red set. They would be great for one of the versions of a tube quilt.
Love your fabrics. The reds are pretty. I can see how some of you get a headache from them. Anxious to see what you make from them.

Love the reds! Maybe if you throw a solid at each batch of Color it will help in the inspiration department.there are so many possibilities I'm afraid to offer one.Best of luck though and looking forward to seeing your choices. The chocolate Colorado just beg for something decadent!!!
Love your fabrics, especially the reds. Please come back and share what you do with them!!
You've got the start of some beautiful quilts. I love all of the sets!
Love all the sets though I think the bottom one needs something as they are so similar. I agree with some of the comments that a solid needs to be added to each. I thought Christmas or Valentines for the reds - maybe a tablerunner?. I thought of my neice for the butterflys...something fun and modern.
Please let us know what you do. Fun fabrics with lots of potential. |
Very pretty fabric!
Drunkards patch came to my mind. Very nice fabrics!
Absolutely beautiful fabrics-maybe log cabin.
I think the middle red would go well to off set the butterflies...no pattern ideas...the last red that is so busy would look great with a solid white and solid matching red in a simple pattern...now you can go buy more fabric.

I love all your fabrics especially the reds and the browns. I suggest Eleanor Burns "Twice as Nice" or on Missouri Star Quilt Co. the "Amazing Jelly Roll quilt pattern byThree Dudes". You didn't say how much fabric is there, I would make lap quilts from them and I did like the suggestion of using the reds in a Valentine way. They are beautiful. When I have fabric and it calls for a jelly roll, I just simply cut strips, usually 2 1/2 " wide by the width of the fabric. Whatever you choose to make with those choices you can't go wrong.
you could combine the blue browns with the brown whites and add a bit more brown. rail fence or log cabin... (terrible on remembering pattern names) Not sure about the set with the butterflies. Something with hearts for the reds.
I see a D9P for the first 2, but the others need something to make them pop. The turquoise looks like 2 of them are turquoise and black, but the lightest is turquoise and brown? The 3 browns need a solid or a tone on tone very dark brown imho.
Such gorgeous fabrics.
Love the reds---makes me think of hearts for sure!
I have some of those fabrics. I really like them all. :)
I'm doing a black/white/red DNP with mine. :) I'm also doing a Rail Fence (I believe is what it's called) with some of the others. Can't wait to see what you decide! :) |
I really like the solid-y red with the spotted red together. The butterfly and the turquoise with a tone-on-tone pink would make a gorgeous warm wishes!
hmmmm 10 minute block comes to mind on all of them .. but then that is the mode I am in .. is the 10 minute block .. LOL (well when I sit down to my machine that is .. LOL)
LOVE the red. I really like them all, red is just my favorite .I'm like you, when I buy fabric I always buy at least two yards each fabric and 3 to 4 colors that go together.
Decide later what you want to make with them. lol |
I see aprons and bags from them. I love them.
I love the butterfly set!! What fabric line is it?
I see big blocks of butterfly fabric (6 - 8") with 2" border of blue and corner stones of the black surrounded by the dot borders then the final border of blue and butterfly on back. Simple, but I think it would also be stunning. Could also pull some hot pink in there. |
They say DP9 to me and I LOVE the red. It is so vibrant.

First thing I thought of with the red was applique:

What fabulous fabrics. When I first saw the red fabric on the left, I thought of the 9 patch heart, set on point with 2 1/2" corners sewn on the diagnal then trimmed off. Sorry I can't describe it better, but I there there was something like it on Missouri Star Quilt Co. and maybe Eleanor Burns quilt in a day site. Love the butterfly fabric, maybe do an 8 pointed star with t he butterfly fussy cut, something like that. have fun.
