Do you have EQ Quilt Design Wizard program?
Hi,
I just ordered the EQ Quilt Design Wizard software and wondered if anyone here had used it before? What do you think of this program? I used to have EQ5 but hated it...it wasn't very user friendly at all. I ended up throwing it away in frustration! LOL. This program is supposed to be much easier than EQ. Thanks! |
I had it before I bought EQ5 (now I have EQ7). I got a lot of use from it. My main reason for switching was because I wanted to be able to import my own fabrics into the program and wanted to be able to design blocks. But if you want a simpler program it's perfect.

There's actually a 23 part tutorial by Rhonda on QB

I bought Wizard and EQ6 at the same time. I upgraded to EQ7 and only used Wizard a few times, always switching over to EQ. The capabilities just weren't there for what I wanted to do. Most of the time I wind up designing my own blocks - not necessarily blocks that are new to the quilting world, but blocks that aren't in Wizard or EQ. There was a huge user interface improvement in EQ6, which made the program easier to use.

Wizard is much cheaper than EQ.
I like it for color tryouts and designs that go togather for secondary designs. Havent used it in awhile but it is worth the price. I think around 29 dollars. You cant design your own blocks with it but I don't care to do that anyway. There are so many designs out there to use. It also has new quilt designs available. |
Thanks for the information! I was able to buy it for $17.80 on amazon! I think it will be well worth the price. Maybe someday I'll give EQ7 a try, since some have said it is easier than EQ5 was.
Thanks. |
