Still chuckling from the use of condoms.:D

Don't think you are the only one that was thinking that way. I also thought they were just used when storing thread.

Spool thread holders

I instead use soda/water plastic bottles to control the thread of the spool. Works like a charm! Learned that couple years ago when I started going to a Tuesday night sew group in town.

Here is a photo of what I'm talking about. I have also used the smaller water/soda bottle for regular sized spool threads.

I simply cut the bottle across at one of the seams usually about 1/4 or 1/3 up, put the spool of thread in than put the top piece on and overlap it with bottom piece and there you have it. When not in use I put the cap back on to keep it dust free. :)

I've been sewing a long time and I never knew they made these. How neat!

Mary, I live close by you! Just south of Arlington. Could not find a PM for you, so PM me & maybe we can meet up & sew together sometimes.
Have a good weekend,

Dear Tothill, you have given alot of us a good laugh, I have tears running down my face from reading all the comments. Thank you and I will be laughing for days when I think of it. Makes me think of the joke about the old lady. Her minister came to call and when she went for coffee, he saw a bowl of oil with a condom in foil floating in it. He asked what she had that sitting on her panio for and she said she found it in the park. It said to use to preven disease and lubricate it. So she put it in a bowl and it had floated there all winter and she hadn't been sick once.

Hummm, guess that would might explain why I was never sick but always pregnant. Just kidding. . . but still laughing

Yes, take apart a nylon bath scrubby! It's amazing what you can find to do with a tube of netting.

Hahaha. Here's a funny on me. I received an order I had placed and one of those was in the package. It was in a little plastic bag, so I knew it was placed there intentionally. But I had no idea what it was for! Well, now I do :)
