While sewing patches or blocks, do you pin? I don't always but on sashing, cornerstones and borders I do. How about you?

I measure the blocks - mark the sashing and/or borders - and then I pin

Same with me. I don't pin too much when piecing the block, but when joining blocks, rows, etc that have seams that need to match up, I definitely do. If I don't, I usually get to do some unsewing and resewing, which I HATE!

Plain squares or rectangles, I don't. Quite often I will when working with triangles. I do on the cornerstones, but not always on sashing or borders. It just depends whether there will be stretching or not, and if I need to match or not.

Only borders --measure center of quilt- cut to size--pin center, quarters, ends. I get to many quilts with "ruffled" (lettuce edges) not to. I find if I cut square/straight--- sew even seams-- no need to pin.

sometimes I do...other times I use Elmers glue...and other time nothing...when doing strips of my squares I pin. I find the seams match up correctly.

I also like to pin the borders on.

If any of you have tried to do the 10 minute block, you probably found you have to pin. Normally, 50% of one, 1/2 dozen of the other...
