Do you see any connection with these pieces?

I was recently gifted a box of scraps. Some nice surprises and then this set... I have them laid out and each time I pass them, I keep trying to see the pattern. Hopefully, someone see the pattern or I could make mug rugs.

It looks like an Irish Chain to me. A double Irish Chain? With the yellow being the chain.

Here's a diagram of a double Irish Chain. With your set, the chain part is all one color instead of two shades of green. I think, anyway.

You already have a pattern in the repetition of the small white squares. As is makes for a very modern looking quilt. My only suggestion would be to combine more of the partial cross blocks into full crosses, but leave layout loose as is to keep it modern. Are you going to use sashing? If so use a deep color purple, dark blue or black will make it really pop.

Good luck, enjoy the challenge

HMMM, not sure on the overall pattern, but in your second picture, if you take the 1st one in the first row, and sew it to the second one in the second row, you wind up with the 4th block in the 3rd row.

Then I would take the 4th block in the second row and sew it to the 4th block in the 1st row, so all the small white squares are on the outside. I think this will give you the 2 blocks the original quilter was aiming for. You can alternate these 2 blocks. Very pretty fabric, especially for fall.

It does look llike the start of an Irish chain....but I can't quite figure out how to rearrange the blocks to get there... good luck with it! Beautiful color...

wow, you ladies solved this puzzle so fast.

I'm also thinking she may have started an Irish chain - but changed her mind when the two golds ended up being almost the same color.

You are so wonderful - you quilt detectives!

Thanks so much for your help. I never thought it would only take just minutes to get the solution. There are enough pieces to do 15 blocks and there are a few scraps. The two golds are the same shade but one is of a leaf and the other one looks like piles of noodles. Then I will figure out if it is a runner or table topper. I truly appreciate your help. I don't want this to be undone any longer. When I get it sewn, I will repost.
