I can be extremely tired but cannot go to sleep because my quilting projects keep running through my mind. Even, the projects I've already started, I ponder how I could make them better, what new projects to work on and which ones to wait to make. I even write down on a piece of paper the ideas hoping I'll relax and sleep...I guess I can say I am addicted to quilting. LOL. Is anyone else having this problem?

they don't keep me awake at home ... ok ... maybe once in a while.

I am like that all the time. My thing is how can I make it easier, or add something to make it a little different.

listen to some music in bed with the intention of going to sleep while listening to it... my cassette turns itself off after one side.... I am asleep by that time, usually.

I used to have a real problem with that when I first started quilting. Would wind up getting out of bed and looking through books, mags, etc or just walking around my sewing room looking at projects in the works. Now I only do that when I'm starting a new technique. Like when I first started learning to McTavish. I couldn't stop my mind from doing the design over and over, so sleep wouldn't come easily. Had to get up and look at her book or try another swatch.

Yeah, I'm always like that over things. Or if I have something very important to do the next day, I can't turn it off and rest. I toss and turn all night. Just knowing I'm going on a school trip with Kindergarten tomoorrow afternoon, I'm already feeling that "tingle" in my chest. I won't sleep at all tonight, but tomorrow was my day to make a big cake for Saturday. Knowing I won't be here for most of the day tomorrow, well, that really is bothering me.
I need to be making flowers! I want to quilt! And the baby is tearing my chair apart right now!

Yea, I have that problem also. I get my ideas then, and have to write them down. My husband laughs when I say I get my best ideas then, but he likes the quilts. I am glad I work second shift, cuz then I can sleep in if I stay up late with the ideas I got at bedtime!!!!!

Yes, I lose sleep sometimes. And I also dream about quilts I should make. Having to get up and go to work when a true inspiration has come in my dreams is frustrating to say the least!

If I can't fall asleep easily usually get my mind off quilty things by making myself think in detail of something completely different, like how I would design and decorate my dream house, and where I would like to build it.

That gets my creative energies refocused and I can relax and sleep.

Yep, I also wake in the middle of the night because the answer to a quilting problem came to me in my sleep. But, there's worse things to lose sleep over.
