Does anyone have a Janome table and do you recommend it?

I just bought the Janome 8900 and have always sewn on my dining room table. Would it be advantageous to get the Janome table, and why? (Other than the obvious - don't want to keep cluttering up my dining room!) Is the table fairly mobile so I could move it from room to room? Thank you for any input.

I looked at one at my dealers and was very impressed with how sturdy it was. But, it came with a higher price than I was willing to pay. I ended up going to ikea and got mine. It's very sturdy and a lot cheaper, was also bigger like I wanted.

I bought a table for my Janome from the dealer - I'm assuming it's the same one. Anyway, I really like it. It's on casters that I can move the table easily if need be and I got the bigger one so I have lots of sewing room. I love the machine sitting down in the table and I have a flat surface.

And does the Janome table fold for storage? You about have me convinced. What should I expect to pay for it?

I had the table with my 6600 ... and when I switched machines, it was a must have, if I was to have a new machine. The 8900 Janome table is the same, except for the insert being added, to allow you access to the free arm.

It's sturdy, and when you take your machine out, very easy to move around. No need to have the casters. You can slide it easy enough with the machine in if you're moving it just a short distance, though safer to remove the machine!

Only drawback ... virtually no storage!

Yes, I highly recommend it!

When I purchased my machine, it was part of the package deal ... I probably would not have paid the price at the time, if it was an add-on cost. Though once I had it, I saw the good value in it!

I would look at other sewing machine cabinets as well as the janome. I have the horn cabinet which air lift or machine. Top folds backwards given double top space. Also has a cabinet inside whichulls out I'm very happy with it. Only draw back too low to cut on unless you are a midget.
