Now that Christmas is behind us, I wanted to make one of those quilts that fit over just a part of the bed. I think they are called bed scarfs or something like that. Anyway, does anyone know what they are called and where I could find a pattern? ( hopefully free, but if not, ok). I suppose I could just take a bed quilt pattern and cut it in fourths, but I remember seeing some really pretty ones, just can't remember where.
Thanks in advance, you all are such neat ladies ( and gentlemen) and always have the answers whenever anyone needs help.

The ones that drape across the bottom of the bed?

I have heard them called "bed runners" but I don't know the real name.

I keep a twin size quilt (turned sideways) across the foot of our king size bed. Keeps the toes toasty.

They are called Bed Runners and I bought the book and am working on one right now. You can order it at Clotilde.com, its by Kathy Brown. Its for using precut fabrics but you can also cut your own. Very easy ones and colored photos and instructions.

Kaye Wood has a couple here one of her versions, she calls it a 'quarter quilt'

Bed Runners sounds like what I heard also. But another use might be to cover the pillows when the quilt doesn't reach that far.

They look like long table runners don't they? I was thinking you could just add some length to one of those patterns!
