google Mickey Mouse embroidery there will be a bunch that comes up. I don't know your feelings on copyright but brother is the only company that has rights to this copyright! which means most of them are aggainst copyright laws!
If you are wanting to do something with the ears I would A) be careful Disney is strict about their copyright..and why not just use a plate and saucer to draw the "ears" and then cut the circles out of black fabric and raw edge stitch them on to your tote? This saves on cost and you can make it as big as you like! |
I have an Ellisimo, which is a baby lock, and the brother's is the VW of the Baby Lock that is for sure.
I have seen a Mickey Mouse with just the head and ears out there on Embroidery Designs or Embroidery Library. I know anyone that has a brother machine that is Machine Embroidery off hand. |
Brother is the only company licsensed to sell Disney...so I guess you will have to get a Brother.
But these are only for personal use. Gifts for family and friends is fine but NO SELLING...Disney WILL go after you... |
Available via the internet from Europe. Everything you can think of....just do some goggling....there is a great website in Russia that I have purchased some quality designs from....

I found a place that has the Mickey Mouse Designs, since Baby Lock and Brother's are more or less the same company, but it works on other machines also. The place was called prostores.com for anyone else that wants to know.
I want them to make Tote bags for the nieces and nephew that go to Disneyland every two or three months. They have everything Disney, a couple of my nieces collect the Disney pins and they take them with them, people exchange pins down there. Big hobby, from what I can see, my nieces has book after book of pins. :) |
As many have cautioned, Brother is the only machine licensed to have Disney designs. If you find any anywhere else they are counterfeit and illegal.
Disney defends their copyrights and will confiscate any products displaying their designs that were not obtained legally. They wil also prosecute the offender and confiscate all of their machines. They are known for going to craft fairs to see if any one is selling their work illegally. Please do not patronize those that would break the law. |
Have no way of knowing if this person is legal or not.
They designs are said to be part of Brother's which is part of Baby lock. I wrote to the guy and he hasn't answered me. |

Copyright laws by Disney are very aggressive and they will get theirs one way or another! |

I got this link from allbrands.com yesterday. The prices range from $5-$10 per design. |
If you read the Allbrands ad...it states that the embroid. designs are for the Brother machine.

Go to
http://cartoonembroidery.webs.com/ They are located in England Read their terms and conditions regarding the license you buy with the purchase. Pretty clear. |
Anything popular can be found in counterfeit form in one place, another, or many. this is especially true in the international internet "marketplace". Crooks can set up operation, rake in piles of money in a very short time, then shut down and disappear into the woodwork long before authorities can track them down for arrest and prosecution.
Sooooo i'd advise caution when shopping for trademarked, licensed or copyright protected items of any sort. if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. i think (but am not positive) there are brands of embroidery machines on the market that will work with a variety of file formats. so, i think it's possible to buy legal embroidery files in the brother format that can be used on a machine not manufactured by brother. (each machine owner/buyer will need to check that as it applies to the machine they own or are considering.) i'm not a lawyer, so am not up to speed on this. however, my amateur understanding of things is that Brother has exclusive license to produce and sell embroidery files based on Disney characters, etc. so, i assume this issue boils down to whether or not the source from which a person is considering a purchase of Disney embroidery files has acquired those files legally themselves. again, caution and care are essential. |

there are disc's available of all the disney characters---disney characters are copy-righted/ licensed designs- you need to purchase the design in order to legally use the design.
most of the machine embroidery sites offer plenty of digitized designs, including the disney characters- try brenina, viking, sulky, singer, janome...if a manufacturer offers an embroidery machine they will also offer soft ware embroidery designs |
