Does Quilting Keep You Up At Night?
I've found that I can't use my quilting mags or books for bedtime reading. My mind just starts whirling with plans & ideas and I can't go to sleep. Same thing when I'm planning a new project. It just gets me wired & sleep won't come. Tell me y'all have the same problem?

I love to stay up to work on projects in the peaceful time after everyone has gone to bed, but I, too, find that my mind gets creative and I have difficulty sleeping. Handwork does not have the same effect on me. I bet we are not alone....

when the ideas are flying, i may still somehow get to sleep. but i find that i wake up way to early with the thoughts of the projects ahead :)

I am the same. Do you see quilts in things like windows, walls, tile, floors, buildings, sunsets, flowers, you get the idea. Someties I even dream quilts.

I tend to wake up early with the ideas I've somehow acquired during the night.

You are not alone. I thing most of us are that way.

Oh you are not alone, not only can I not look at magazines... I can't play in my stash before bed. If I try picking out colors/fabrics it just gets me wired .. and I will have dreams about color combinations. So usually I try to do pressing or sewing room clean up as a bit of a wind down.

I have a stack of quilt mags on my night stand; enough said.

If I woke up in the middle of the night I used to try to put myself back to sleep by planning quilts. Never helped - I would just want to get up and work on it!
Now I just plan grocery lists and dinner menus...put me right to sleep. Alison |
