What was I thinking...I put my fleece fabric right sides together...started quilting....then remembered I need to turn it inside out..but I figured I can turn it inside out even though I started to quilt...what a mess...its half turned inside out and I can not find the threads to use my seam ripper....so for you that are doing a birthing quilt/blanket...do not quit them together before turning it inside out.
Ya know I think we all have done this one time or another. Sorry it happened. Good Luck with those threads.

Opps. It happens. Yesterday I put borders on a block and went to the machine to start quilting. It felt different and when I checked again, there was no batting or backing. I would have never made this confession, but since you spoke up, so did I.
I give up...I am just going to cut it up and make scarfs and kitty bed...if you every sew on fleece....its impossible to rip out the seams.
Sorry this happened to you! I can only imagine the frustration. At least some good will come out of your mistake.
It worked out fine...kitties are happy. I also had enough to make a small lap kitty quilt - just enough for them to lay out on while on our laps. for that one I was able to do a birthing quilt. I did find that I do not like working with fleece. I will stick with cotton and flannel.

What on earth is a "birthing quilt"????
its when you put the fabric right side together and sew on the batting around the edges, turn it inside out like a pillow...then machine quilt - no binding.
After you birth a quilt can you machine quilt it? I have never birthed a quilt before but think I am going to try it.
Just make sure to sew the batting to only one side first, wrong side together just on the edges, then sew them to the other side of the quilt top. then you can turn them inside out....pin if you did not baste...hand sew the opening closed and you can machine quilt But sound like thin batting like warm and natural works best. then once done many sew a 1/4 inch all around the outside of the quilt to look like a binding. I have been researching this...some look wonderful.
