I design my own quilts...so sometimes it comes out yucky and I get disgusted and throw it away... This is a mistake. I found one last night I' made a year or so ago. For whatever reason it ended up in a bag of scraps.

I must say, it's pretty after all. Glad it escaped the trash bag. A good ironing is all it needs. So, remember....your tastes may change, or maybe you just have an unrealistic picture in your head, who knows? So let it rest a year or so and then check it again. The poor thing still needs a good home.

This is great advice....I know from experience also! Same thing has happened to me several times!

Sometimes these just get tied and dropped in a charity box for new homes. I would never just throw out a quilt unless it was worn out beyond repair

I got a chuckle when you said "So let it rest a year or so and then check it again." I have a few projects that are "resting."

It is very good advice. And now you have a quilt to warm someones heart.

Very good advice! I like the idea of donating an "ugly" too. A warm blanket doesn't need to be straight, award-winning, the perfect colors, etc. And it will always be appreciated.

Oh, good! I'm no longer procrastinating I'm just letting it rest! I like it. My sister and I were "contemplating" projects for a long time now but I think "resting" will be our new phrase!!

Do projects need to 'age' like a fine wine???

I believe that you can work on something long enough that you get tired and take it out on the project by not liking it anymore ... alwalys put it away for a few days to allow yourself to rest up and see it though rested eyes. usually it improves. I have made cloths, quiltsor even curtains that I just hated when finished. but when i looked at them several days later I fell in love with them or at least could tolerate them,
