I got an idea for a variation on a Double Wedding Ring. Can't show you guys anything, though, because this idea is not easy to transfer onto Paint (stupid curvy lines). The only solution I could think of was to find a colorless pattern layout of the DWR block (like when you make a template of a block in EQ and it shows you what the finished block looks like without any color) and paste that onto Paint and work on it from there. I just can't find something I could work with (why is it I can never find what I'm looking for?). Where might I find what I'm looking for?

I think it's great that you're exploring your own design capabilities. good for you! it's fun AND a great way to "make" quilts when you're low on fabric. who knows? maybe you'll end up selling patterns to others. :P

if you're really serious about it, you should go online and "shop" around among the many free drawing programs out there. paint is very limiting. here's a free program. i've only played in it a little, but i think it might work very well for you once you get the hang of its many features.

you might also want to check out the Open Office suite. it has all the same type programs Microsoft Office has but is completely free.

Thanks for the Link to the drawing program Patrice, I've been thinking of getting Corel Draw, but this might work and the price is much better :P
