This is going to be a wedding present for a very close cousin of mine. He and his fiance met their freshman year of college at George Mason University in Virginia. They've both graduated and stayed together the whole time. The school colors are green and yellow. I want to make them a queen/king (not sure of the size yet) quilt in greens and yellows.

I can't decide whether to do a traditional Double Wedding Ring quilt or a Lover's Knot and call it "Virginia Is For Lovers". (Remember that slogan?") They met, are getting married and are going to start their married life in Virginia.

They are getting married June 26, 2010 so I probably will start the quilt in late fall/winter. But, I keep debating back and forth between the patterns and its driving me crazy!!!

What are your opinions, ladies (and gents)?

I think either one would be great!!!! Are you planning on using just 2 fabrics or shades of yellow and green?

I'm not sure yet.

Will you piece the wedding ring or make the rings on solid color? That would be my deciding factor. Have made both quilts and the Lover's knot was a whole lot quicker and easier to do.

I bought E.B.'s Lover's Knot book. Haven't made one yet, but I really want to. So gorgeous.
