I am thinking about getting a pair but would like to know your experiences with them before I purchase them. Do they work better than a small scissors for trimming applique or don't you see much difference? Thank you for your time!

I love my duckbill scissors--they are great for trimming and IMO "safer" than the other applique scissors. I seem to get a smoother continuous edge with the duckbills. I'm buying an extra pair when I have a Joann's coupon and they have the scissors in stock--they always seem to be out where I look.

Oops, I did not hit enter twice, must have a heavy finger today. Sorry for the double post.

It will be a good investment for you. They really do make a difference.

I love mine and use them frequently. They are great for applique , but also when that one thread needs to be clipped really close , it keeps a accident from happening. I used a coupon at Joann's for my Ginger Duck bill. I think you need to order them now , but they still let you use a coupon.

I LOVE mine, but beware, Gingher only makes right handed ones. My niece who is a lefty, but is pretty adaptable to right handed tools, could not use them. I did find a LH pair at the Sewing Expo last fall, but can't remember the name of the seller.

I found a pair of duck bill scissors at local flea market for $2.50 or 3 for $5.00. Have beening using them for over 6 years, still sharp. I use a pair of cuticle scissors by machine to clip thread. Cuticle scissors are less expensive.

I have the Ginghers and love them. I also use them for the very close thread trim, when needed.
