Thanks ...I just used scraps of homespun I had from different projects and only had to buy big enough for the backing!
Was cheap and the dog has her name on it....no getting it from her!
Its funny she is not a vicious dog at all and rarely will growl...but take her blankee and she growls ...I started to pick it up to wash today and she came running across the room and sat on it ...and then growled...strange behavior for her...she is 18 ...I have had her from the time that she was 7 weeks old...she has never growled at me before ...I just laughed and told to her keep her smelly blankee...lol I swear she was smiling because she won...lol Thing is she wants to drag it in front of the fireplace and i am scared an ember is gonna pop on it and start it on fire...urg
Oh well with hubby being firemarshall/chief we have plenty of extinguishers here in the house...lol Its about the size of a twin blanket and she drags it everywhere ... I am always tripping on it..I am about to cut it in half and sew the edges so it takes up less space ..lol

That is so sweet,, You've had her all of her life. You made her that blankee, and it's hers and she don't want nobody to touch it. Shes a female and very territorial. Women are, so why should she be any different. Maybe thats her way of letting you know how much she loves that blankee.

Butterfly - thanks for the tip on making each block separate with the batting & X quilting. Great idea. I'm gonna have to try that. Never saw one with homespun either. Really nice.

so far the homespun has held up ..I do have to trim it here and there and comb the fringes once or twice...but other than that a good go of it!

I have probably made over 20 rag quilts in the past 2 years, mostly with flannel , one with homespun. The only one I used batting with was the homespun. The flannels are so warm even without batting. My grandkids take them everywhere. I made a beautiful Christmas tree rag quilt which was actually my first rag quilt 2 yrs ago. I am addicted!! I will try to send a pix. The spring scissors are a must!!!! I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed looking and readidng about all your quilts. You all give me peace of mind. Gale :)
