Anyone else doing the block of the month quilt along hosted on Eleanor Burns' Facebook page?
I did the pineapple block tonight. It went together fast and easy with her method. Since I just used scraps I had easily available, I'm not sure what my finished project is going to end up looking like, but she does give full yardage requirements for the entire quilt, as well as for the individual block -- if you're someone who likes to plan yardage and buy stuff that will actually look like you had a plan (unlike me). Anyhow, here's mine. I did it in about an hour and a half, rummaging through my stash for fabrics and pressing before cutting included in that time. Your color selection really 'lights' the block.

There's a link to her FB page with the "Treasure Chest" quilt along info. There's only one block so far, with very easy to download and print, full color instructions. If you make the block and enter a photo before the end of the month, you are in a drawing to win a collection of fabrics suitable for making the whole quilt. Thanks for the kind words re. my block. My colors aren't terribly well chosen, I wish I could have switched the gradations on the blues, for example and had a little more variation between a couple of the greens -- but scrap box dictates. I think the finished thing can be interesting even with a slightly wonky color pallette. RST RST |
I don't do facebook, but seems like the whole world works through that.
