I have a question. Does anyone have any experience with the Electric quilt 6 software? I am contemplating purchasing it but wanted to know from others who have it if it is worth the 149.00. Thanks loads.. Susan53

I think you'll find that anyne who uses the EQ6 software will recommend it, the only negative comments so far have been it's activation process.

The software itself is quite wonderful, it's easy to use and does a fantastic job. I upgraded from version 5.

For those of you that already use EQ6, there’s a lesson on drawing scrollwork with the appliqué tool. This is also a great way to draw custom feathers for quilting, then you can print them onto sticky template paper, and stitch right through them onto your quilt, then remove the paper.

now that eq6 is out, the price of eq5 is dropping. i've been toying with the idea of buying eq, too, but have never been able to talk myself into plunkin' down that kind of money.

cheapskate that i am, i've been using Corel Draw.

i can easily see why eq is so popular. it would save me hours on each design. i might be able to splurge on eq5. (a valentine to myself. LOL)

as an experienced eq user, can you tell me if it's really worth paying at almost twice as much for eq6? and why?

This is something I keep looking at too but just haven't managed to make myself plunk down the money. I'll be curious to see the response of the comparison of EQ5 and EQ6.

Susan,
Curiousity here also. I'm so glad someone started this strand.
My questions are:?: Is the EQ6 a stand alone program or do you have to own the first EQ and build on it?
Do you end up spending more time playing on the computer than sewing?
I guess I need someone to tell me WHY do I need this when I already own a ton of quilting books. Besides the usual, "I want it!"

Thanks for all the response to my question. When I researched it I found that you could download the program onto 4 different computers. What if we wanted to go in together to make the program more affordable???

That would be highly illegal, I suggest you ditch that thought.

Sorry, I imagine you are right..I was just trying to brainstorm how I can afford it ... I promise not to mention stuff like that again. I am still interested in knowing how people who has used it like it or find it helpful.

I have enjoyed reading the different posts. I am trying to learn to free style quilt and haven't got it right yet.. so I was especially interested in those posts.

Also, the Cathedral quilt was beautiful..but so have been all that I have seen. I will try to post some of my tops to share as well.

Also, are there any Mainers on here??
