I have been doing quilting and applique for years but I have never hand embroiderd before. The new pattern that I have decided to do has a mixture of patchwork and hand embroidery. I am wondering if anyone can suggest a good basic hand embroidery book with illustrations that you could reccommend. Thanks Jackie.

Any of the books on crazy quilting has a selection of hand embroidery stitches. You can also google and find all kinds of free information, tuts, stitches, etc.

Check at the public library there are a lot of good embroidery books out there. YouTube is also probably a good bet as you can watch the video as much as you need to.

Google "hand embroidery" and you'll find lots of resources. Here's a link to a great site with lots of good information.
