Ok so I have some inheritance to spend. Was thinking of a pfaff fabric mover with cruise but I know some people do not like them. I understand you can do regualar piecing on these also.
Does anyone have a high end pfaff. What do you like about it. I might trade in my 2044 quilter. Don`t thinkI wantthe up keep of 2. What would you do?
Thanks Gale

You need two machines for when one is in the shop.
I have a cheap Brother that stands in when my good Viking is getting an annual checkup. Computer machines should be treated with care.
There are bad reviews for the fabric mover so I did not get one for my Viking, which also has one available. The old models have to small of a hole and you keep hitting the edge. The newer one is expensive and people say it is hard to use on a large area and of course the demo is on a small piece.
I would check on getting a used Bernina with the stitch regulator.

I have a Pfaff embroidery/sewing machine and I love it. It's not top of the line but it works great.

Can you go to a dealer and try out the fabric mover? Take a sandwiched quilt with you to see how you like it :D:D:D

I have the Pfaff 2140 (upgraded to 2170). I love it! If I had the money I would buy another Pfaff to have two, one for embroidery and one for piecing. I have the Fabric Mover, not sure if old or new one. Haven't taken the time to learn it but hopefully one day. I know several here have two machines and am envious, but will save money to buy another Pfaff so my bobbins and feet will be interchangeable.

Thanks for the info.Yes I`m going to a dealer hopefully next week to see what they have and hopefully test drive.
If I get a good price I might trade mine in and get top of the line, but then might be smart to keep my for classes as I don`t think I would want to haul the new one to class. Lots of thinking.

I have exactly the same machine and fabric mover. My MIL gave them to me when she did some downsizing and I am still trying to learn all the things they do. I hope someone one this thread can enlighten us :!: :D  (Also got a great Babylock serger and got thread to try that out just before Christmas. Is it a sin to have so much stuff and not know how to use them?)

I have Pfaff 7570 and 2140, There are my cherished items.
I would never part with either machine. I will buy another Pfaff
if the chance arrives.
What ever you choose, buy from a good dealer. This is where you will get the help in learning your machine.

I have a Pfaff Expression 2033 and like it very much. I agree...buy from a good dealer. I have a problem now, though, in that the dealer I bought mine from is going out of business (her choice...not because she wasn't doing well). I don't know now where I'll go for servicing and buying bobbins, etc.

I would really think about trading in your machine. You never get what it's worth so if you can affort to keep it and you like it then don't trade it in.
