Went to my sewing room to start a baby quilt that needs to be done by the end of Sept. Went through my stash and decided to make a D9P. Want 12" blocks so need to cut fabric 4 1/2". Cut a strip and get a phone call. Go back to cutting and cut the next strip 3 1/2". Luckily have enough fabric so it isn't a problem but none the less it didn't make me happy.
Start sewing and can't get my tension right. Too loose. Keep messing with it and then find that my bobbin wasn't wound right. Reach for my box of bobbins and knock over an entire box of pins so then I'm on the floor picking up a gazillion pins. Wind the bobbin and call it a day. Have to work tomorrow so won't get any sewing done then either. Sept. suddenly doesn't seem so far away. |
LOL I think we all have been there, done that ! I am thinking I need a magnet wand to keep around to help pick up the pins

Wow! That sounds like me. Take a deep breath, and get a magnet for those pins.

OK. The magnet takes care of the pins, I got the bobbin filled right so the tension is OK. Now if I can just keep telling myself 4 1/2", 4 1/2" before I cut, I should be in business. lol

Yes

you MUST be my sister! lol

I definitely have days like that -- ones that I just was NOT meant to be sewing. Very frustrating.
|
Yep, been there and did that!!! Finally wrote "4 1/2" on the back of my hand

TODAY! I had a stressful day at work. Came home and thought I would quilt to relax. The bobbin runs out of thread just as I get on a roll and no more filled to match. Lost a corner triangle. Nothing is going together right and my wise cracking hubby says "Aren't you supposed to be sewing them together not taking them apart." Since he was on the computer in my sewing room, I went and took a long hot bath. I will quilt tomorrow.

Those are the kind of days I decide to READ! Just walk away from the machine and breathe and focus on something else!
