that sounds way out of wack.

I certainly thought soo. I updated the order twice to make sure and that's what it said.

i think it's one of these (maybe).

i rang up $100 exactly. the shipping was $13.04, i believe.

WELL, that didn't work.

i figured it out. you have to cut and paste this link into your own search window, whatever-it's-called. i'm not good with remembering nouns.

NOW, when i charged $200, the shipping dropped to $2. HUH? see we begin to see a regression here.

Well since I'll never order 200 dollars worth of produces I think I'll just stick with Fabric.com. They have wonderful stuff and free shipping with a 35 dollar order at the moment.

i know. there are terrific sites all over. are you looking for quality sites with low prices and low shipping?

tkhooper 02-21-2010 10:55 AM

Well let me see if I can put into words what I like to do.

First off I don't want to spend 100's of hours working on a project and have it come out as less than gorgeous. For example I love to do stamped embroidery but I stopped buying commercial packages long ago because the stamped embroidery had a cartoonish look to it.

So I am willing to save up and get top quality products and pay for them.

But then I want the shipping to be what I know it should be. I'm willing to use bulk rates and wait 8 to 12 weeks for delivery to keep shipping rates as low as possible.

I bet you wonder why right? I'm on disability and my paycheck is not big. So I want to spend the money on the fabric not on the shipping.

From what you've been saying maybe I need to save up a couple hundred dollars then pick out the next 5 projects that I want to do and get the fabric all at once. I don't like doing that because I never know what life is going to throw me. And I have had to give away or throw away supplies because I end up not being able to use them in the past and I don't want to end up in that situation again.

no, no, no! :hunf: don't do that!!

there are places that will give good product for low shipping. for example, one place ships up to 8 lbs for $4.99 total, etc. or have you tried your hand at dying or bleaching solids? or overdying ugly stuff? you can get very dramatic effects at next to nothing prices.
