You can ask for some when you go fabric shopping...they will give you the empty ones they are going to throw out at no charge...

I made my own out of foam core board. Works great for three yards and under. For the larger amounts I used a couple of manila folders and wrapped them carefully and then they went in a see thru bin. I had a bunch of them on the cardboard bolt things but then finding a place for them was difficult.

The dollar tree stores has foam boards for $1 each, you can cut these to your desired lengths :wink: :D:D:D

http://stores.ebay.com/GwimpyLous look in the Sewing and Quilting catagory. Gwen sells them in different qty's, most economical in batches of 48. I love mine! These boards are acid free so long time storage will not damage your fabric. The cardboard cores the fabric manufacturers use is not acid free and will over time damage your fabric. Non-acid free cardboard is cheaper to produce and the fabric manufacturers don't intend them for longtime storage. |

check with one of your local sign manufacturers. My friend cut mine and wouldn't charge me for them! What a great friend! He said they had the material and it was going to be thrown away if it wasn't used. It's called coroplast. I've seen someone buying them from Polar Notions. When the price was broken down I think they were a $1.00 ea.
I also found bolt buddies from Pals Productions and bought 200 metal clips to hold the fabric to the board. I believe those were 50.00 with shipping. Happy fabric rolling! :lol: |
