I bought some fabric and the seller said it was 100% cotton - how can I check to be certain?

Snip off a little corner. Hold it with tweezers. Set it on fire over the sink. If it spits and crackles and leaves black lumps it has some poly in it. If it just burns with a smooth flame and leave soft gray ash it's cotton.
