Fabric cuts

I am trying to identify differnt fabric cuts for my Guild meeting. Can anyone tell me what is a candy bar and what is a brick?

A candy bar is a 2.5" X 5" rectangle (so it is 1/2 of a charm square)

I have no idea about a "brick" but will watch to see if anyone else knows

I thought candy bar was just Moda's cutesy name for a brick to keep with their dessert themed names for precuts.

Perhaps this will help you?
You'll find lots more than the ones you have inquired about. Hope this helps your Guild friends.

Candy Bar is not in the Moda Equivalent Measures listing.

Thanks, one site told me a brick is 5 x 9.5.

I always thought a brick was 3X6.

I thought brick just meant rectangle.

What I have gathered from Bonnie Hunter's website is that a brick is a rectangle which is the equivalent of 2 squares of the width sewn together. In case that is clear as mud, let me give you an example: a brick with a width of 2" would have a length of 3.5"; 2 2" squares sewn together would be 3.5 inches -- 2 + 2 = 4 - .5 (seam) == 3.5. A brick with 3.5" width would need to be 6.5" long, etc. Only my understanding --- I could be way off in left field!!
