Has anyone made a quilt or wall hanging using 100% cotton fabric samples? The kind you get from a decorator or shop? If you washed it, what did you use? I picked up three books @ 25 cents each and figured I would try something totally new for me. Any suggestions???

I think they would make great rag quilts,'cause the tend to ravel anyway.

I'd wash a few to see what happens. I think the samples have a lot of sizing so a little stiffer.

Someone on the board made a great quilt from samples like this. I can’t remember the name of the post or I would attach a link for you. These fabrics will make a unique quilt.

I've made quilts out of home dec fabric & they washed very well. I haven't tried the fabric samples because the ones I get have too much paper on them or are too small (2" x 3"). I know women who have made quilts as a mission project using the squares.

I would wash and dry them to see how they handle that and then use them for any project :D:D:D

I've only used them for cat or dog pads. Too heavy for a quilt, IMHO. I made one for my BIL's pickup and it is just too heavy to sleep under.
