Does anyone know if there is a quilt shop on St Martin??? When I ask folks here, they do not seem to understand what I am saying!

I have been there several times and I have not found one yet

If you mean St. Maarten, I did a quick google search and found this thread:

here's another one

You might also phrase your question differently and ask about fabric shops instead. :)

I will try doing a search on cruise critic and get back to you.

Looks like Peckish beat me with the cruise critic suggestion, lol.

I have found very little quilt type fabric anywhere in the Caribbean Islands, and what I did find was very very limited in selection and more $$$ than here in the US.
What few shops are fabric variety stores, upholestry, some dress goods, but quilt fabrics .... have always been a disappointing search.

I am just looking for a piece or 2, I have been collecting batiks, either 1/2 yds or F4's from various vacations to incorporate into a memnory quilt for myself.

I think that is a neat idea. If you can't find any fabric, maybe you could locate a pretty scarf or blouse, and use that in your quilt instead.

When I went to St Croix last year, I found that the desk clerk sewed so we chatted alot about fabrics and such. She was a transplant from Texas. I asked her about fabric stores and she said that there very few but that there were some in San Juan, PR. She said that she mainly had her family ship her fabric from the states. I was bummed because I would have like to bring home some "vacation fabric"
