The quilter's travel guide is a great investment. Lists quilt shops by state. Also lists adds, phone numbers which is great so you can call and be sure they are there. We took a trip last Sept and found shops I would never have known were there. The shop people were nice and my husband enjoyed finding out the history of the buildings the shops were in.

It wouldn't be on your route, but you should head to the Quilt Patch in Tecumseh if you haven't been there. I know most of the MI shops, so if you ever want ideas of just MI shops, pm me.

Do NOT go to Mary Jo's in Gastonia, NC. You'll never make it to Myrtle Beach. You do not want to see the largest fabric store on the east coast-west of the Mississippi. It has too many quilt fabrics to possibly see them all in a day, thousands and thousands of bolts and is like walking into heaven on earth.... you'll never make it out the door. DON'T GO TO MARY JO'S CLOTH STORE!!!
