Fabric treasure trove...
My brother and sister-in-law (who has dementia due to uncontrolled diabetes) just dropped off her fabrics for me.
There are two big tubs of silks, cottons, polyester, suedes and I don't know what all! Three bolts of upholstry fabric including one that's suede, a bag of ribbon and beads and six tubes of different colored plastic "rings/circles." Some of the fabric is vintage. My mind is going a hundred miles a minute thinking of all the projects I can use them in! All she asked in return is a wall hanging made with beige and red materials. I can do that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
I have two friends that give me their scapes for my string charity quilts. Last time they were in 40 gallon bags....my goodness they will keep me busy for a year with all the free fabric.

What a blessing! You can create for a long time!
|
Lucky you! Have fun creating!

Free is the best way to get fabric!! Have fun!

how fortunate! i belong to a small group that sews charity quilts strictly from donations. it's amazing what one can create from the seemingly awfullest fabrics.

I am sorry about their misfortune with the dementia and all, but glad the fabric got a new home! Have fun with it :D

Sorry to hear about your sister-in-law but glad that the fabric is going to a good home.

same here! |
Sorry to hear about your sister-in-law's dementia. It's nice she is able to decide what to do with her fabric. Post a photo of the wall hanging when you have completed it.

also ? a lap quilt --she is obviously into texture --we are finding a light weight lap quilt [backed with flannel-as it will not slip off your knee] on the front a mix of many textures --silks -fur -lace -braids-flaps- pockets-pin tucks---they give a purpose to the restless hands and have a wonderful calming effect
be very careful if you use buttons or beads they my be worried off restless finger remain very strong |
that was nice that they thought of you-enjoy your new stash
