Several years ago, I bought fat quarters from a moda collection to make a turning twenty. When I laid it out, although the fabrics were co-ordinating, it looked terrible to me. The fabric is still sitting there cut, but unsewn. I am sick of moving the fabric from place to place. Any ideas on what I could do with this fabric, any patterns that might suit using cut up pieces? I want to do something with it, but I am stumped.
Please help me?
p.s the fabric is florals and tonals in typical moda fashion.

can you post a pic of the fabs and the original pattern you wanted them for? Maybe someone on the board would LOVE to make it-and you could off-load them to someone knowing they will get used. I bet if you laid out the pieces as though sewn into the blocks, it wouldn't look so bad!

I vote for a pic too. I'm a visual person so I would need to see the fabrics. You could always make it and donate it if you really don't like it once it's finished....

What about putting the patches together in blocks that look good to you then separating them with a plain sashing.

could you replace a few of the pieces, maybe be more pleasing to you then

Boy, I was in the same boat as you are now! I had cut everything out to make a turning twenty, and absolutely hated it.

Here's the link to how I redesigned mine - I was SO much happier with the results!

If you failed turning twenty then you are still only 19.
