I am searching for instructions for a fast method of putting together 9 patch blocks. It starts by placing two 9 inch sqares right sides together and then sewing a quarter inch seam on opposite sides of the square. After that you do a bunch of cutting and flipping and sewing, and you end up with two 9-patch blocks at 7 and a half inches. Sound familiar, anyone?

I make my nine patch blocks the strip quilting method. Cut three strips 2 1/2" wide, as long as the fabric is wide. Sew the strips dark, light, dark. Then do another light dark light, then do one more set dark light dark. Then, cut those into 2 1/2 " units, and sew them together. Much faster, much more accurate. :-)
